Aside from all the moisturizers, serums and masks you buy to have a glowing and fresh skin, there are some things you really should consider doing if you want to aim your goal. Back to basics, girl!
Sleep Your Way to Better Skin
A lack of sleep leads to stress which can alter the body’s chemistry by causing the body’s production of Cortisol to rise. This hormone can cause the body to experience increased inflammatory damage. Although sleep requirements vary, the recommended sleep cycle for optimum health is from seven to nine hours. You can rely on lavender sachets to help you get a solid night’s sleep. Purchase them in sachet form or make your own. Lavender is available at any health food store or natural supermarket. Place 2 to 3 tablespoons in a jewelry pouch.
Fight Skin Inflammation with Supplements
Vitamins C and E as well as Alpha Lipoic acid are all effective in fighting inflammatory damage brought on by free radicals in the body. Also consider adding fish oil supplements to your daily diet. Important to your overall health, fish oil contains omega-3 fatty acids which are highly effective in fighting inflammation.

Diet
Whole grains, fruits and vegetables in deep colors fight inflammation which can cause skin irritation and wrinkling of the skin. Olive oil, nuts, and cold water fish contain anti-inflammatory properties. Flaxseed is favored by beauties that have great skin. They use it as a garnish on foods and take it as a supplement. Spices that help to fight inflammation include ginger and turmeric.

Home remedies
Here are two home remedies that have worked for me:
- The Aspirin Mask
Dissolve 3 aspirin in a quarter cup of hot water. Allow it to cool, and then dip a cotton ball into the mixture. Apply all over face and allow to set for about ten minutes. Rinse thoroughly. The salicylic acid in the aspirin will brighten and even out skin tone while treating acne.
- The Vodka Glow
Mix a quarter cup of vodka with the juice of a fresh lemon. Dab it on the face neck, and chest area. Don’t rinse. Allow the air to evaporate it. You will definetly glow!
