Here are a few tricks I picked up while working as an assistant for a famous stylist. There are certain tools that help the models look their best at the photo shoots and even on the runway. You’re going to be surprised…

Face Training

Use surgical tape (available at drugstores) to smooth skin while sleeping and preventing furrows. We make expressions during sleep that are uncontrollable and can cause permanent wrinkling. Tape an “X” between your eyebrows just above your nose to duplicate this trick.

Gaffers or Duct Tape

Anything that needs tacking down on a photo shoot, this will do the job. You can even tape your tummy down with it.

Toupee Tape

Use it to keep a plunging neckline from becoming front page news. It keeps bra straps from becoming unsightly and generally keeping anything lightweight adhered to your body. I like it because it’s meant to stick to skin, not a pipe.

Double Stick Carpet Tape

It is used for lots of clothing calamities, like drooping buttons, hem holding, appliqué sticking, and handbag embellishment. It is also useful for holding belt ends in place.

Clear Eyelash Adhesive

You can do everything from holding a flimsy strap close to the skin to keeping jewelry from dangling around.

Also called “butt glue” because it keeps swimsuits from riding up, it also helps to secure a strapless top, and keep ankle wrap sandals from moving around.

Make Your Shoes Slip Proof
To avoid slipping in new shoes do what the models do before walking the runway. Apply medical tape on the soles. Medical tape has a rough texture and is easily removable.

Fake Flawless Skin
A small amount of glycerin over the skin is a fabulous foundation primer. It creates an invisible layer that holds foundation in place while smoothing skin texture.
