Curb Your Cravings!

Curb your cravingsResearchers have found that sniffing peppermint or green apple can suppress hunger. It’s not necessary to carry a peppermint candy or a big apple in your purse. You can find small vials of these scents at most health food stores. Just sniff that craving away!

Combine Hot and Cold

One of my favorite ways to curb my cravings is to combine a hot drink like coffee or tea with a cold fruit. Ideal for filling you up is to have a cup of green tea with a cold crisp apple.

Write Everything Down

Keep a journal of each bite you put in your mouth. You don’t have to count calories, but at the end of the day when you look at that list you’ll be able to see where you’ve been virtuous as well as all your mistakes.

Use the Internet for Support

There are groups all over the internet and can work whenever you feel that your willpower is starting to dip. You’ll find inspiration, dieting buddies, and exchange recipes.

Add Vinegar

I have long used vinegar as a dieting tool. Not only does it add flavor, but vinegar increases feelings of fullness. Studies have also been done to indicate that it reduces fat storage and lowers disease risk. According to research from the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition, vinegar is an effective way to accelerate weight loss.

Snack on Protein

A great way to take the edge off between meals is with a protein snack. Keep cheese and hard boiled eggs in the frig so that it’s readily at hand.

Salt Creates False Weight

Cutting down on salt can create a five pound weight loss. Salt retains excess fluid.

Drink like the French

Red wine is the drink of choice by elegant thin French women. An antioxidant found in red wine only has been found by researchers to boost the body’s ability to break down fats.

Bloat Deflators

  • Water
  • Exercise
  • Eating fresh and not from a package or can.
  • Foods without a lot of preservatives.

Eating Out Tricks

When you reach a point where you’re feeling satisfied, and slowing down, take your napkin and place it over your plate. It would be just too embarrassing to remove the napkin and start eating again.

Drink a glass or two of water before your meal comes. Sip coffee or tea with your meal to slow your eating down. Give some food away before you begin your meal. Choosing red wine is a calorie friendly choice at just 75 calories a glass.
