So you want to look like the models on the runway. Here I have the exclusive secrets from a model friend of mine that worked the runways for 6 years – and that’s a long time for a model.
Glamorous runway eyebrows
You can create those perfectly arched brows of the top super-models. You only need cuticle scissors, tweezers, clear mascara, white eye pencil and an eyebrow pencil close to your eyebrow color. And from here on, there’s only 6 step in getting that fabulous brows:
- Use the white pencil to outline the exact shape you want
- Use the clear mascara and brush your brows up.
- Allow the mascara to dry on your brows so the hair stands up.
- Using the cuticle scissors, carefully trim any long hairs above the upper brow line.
- Tweeze the hairs, one at a time, outside the line, in the direction it grows.
- Brush brows into place.
Runway Eye Tricks
Purchase a creamy black pencil made with beeswax. Using a fat headed brush, and coat it with color. Use short feathery strokes, and brush in between lashes and along the entire length of the tops of your lashes. Follow with two coats of mascara.
Mascara Application
Hold the mascara wand in a vertical position while applying. It provides more volume to the lash. Apply to the tip of the lashes, concentrating on the outer corners.
Shadow
Models get their eye shadow to stay on through several shows by applying foundation to their lids, then powder, and then mixing cream and powder shadow together before application. Don’t brush on shadow; instead pat the shadow on the lid for optimum color effect, and to allow the shadow to be properly deposited.
Create Runway Cheekbones
Not all models have defined cheekbones. Creating them is something that makeup artists and now you can do in just seconds. With a very soft brush, combine different shades of blush so there’s a mixture of light and dark colors. Then from just below the apples in the center of the cheek, swirl the blush toward the temples
Create the Runway “Winged” Eye
To get a perfect winged line on a model’s eye, hold a business card under the lower lash and angle it up toward the brow. Use an eye liner brush dipped in dark brown or charcoal powder, then dust lightly along the card’s edge. After removing the card, a perfectly straight line will appear. It will not give off that harsh “Cleopatra” line because it is softened by the shadow.
Lipstick Trick for Whiter Teeth
To make teeth look absolutely dazzling just use your lipstick. Choose a shiny red lipstick that has blue, not orange undertones. Use a lip brush to apply color evenly. Applying this color lipstick can look dated if it appears too thick on the lips.
Spoon Trick
Carefully hold a clean spoon against the upper eyelid with the hollow side turned in, and the bottom edge lined up with the base of your lashes. Apply mascara using short quick strokes. This trick will prevent mascara from clumping because the extra product will end up on the spoon.
Concealer Trick
Prepare the area with a drop of moisturizer mixed with a drop or two of eye redness reliever. Next take a small brush and dip into concealer. Gently brush over blemish or other imperfection.
