Make your perfume last for as long as you want! Spray it on the “warm” parts of your body, the “pulse points”. Allow the heat of your body to activate the scent and keep it going for you. And never rub perfume on. Allow it soak in. If you really want your fragrance to last and create the most impact apply fragrance down the chest to the cleavage.

Store your perfume in a cool dark area to help it to retain its potency. Fashionistas keep theirs in the fridge, the ideal environment to increase longevity. Throw your fragrance out if it begins to smell in any way sour or has the odor of alcohol.
Find Your Scent
1. Hit the perfume counters at midday when your sense of smell is sharpest.
2. Carry coffee beans when you shop for perfume. It “cleanses” the palate for the nose. Some fragrance counters will provide the coffee beans for you. Give the beans a whiff after trying three different scents.
3. Spritz a few choices on paper blotters.
Fragrance Findings
Men estimate women to be 12 pounds thinner when they’re wearing a spicy or musky scent. Women appear to be up to six years younger when wearing a vanilla, baby-powder, or grapefruit scent.
Experts Report:
- Citrus scents increase alertness by stimulating the irritant nerve in the nose.
- Lavender scents calm by boosting alpha wave activity.
- Cinnamon and vanilla scents increase arousal.
- Honeysuckle scents increase learning speed by boosting brain power.
Getting Rid of Too Much Perfume
If you have gone overboard on your fragrance and there’s no time to shower it off, then grab some rubbing alcohol and pour it onto a cotton ball. Gently dab at the areas where you applied your fragrance. This will diffuse the odor and create more mellow tones.
If you want to remove the fragrance, good old soap and water on a small cloth is your answer. If you’re out at a party and you feel your scent is too strong, discreetly dip your finger into your cocktail and rub over the scent. The alcohol in your drink will diffuse the strength of your fragrance.
Keep cosmetic and perfume labels clear by coating them with clear nail polish. The labels can fade over time or smear if they get wet.
