Makeup can be a beauty maker or breaker. It has the ability to make you look like a clown or years younger. But you simply can’t defy age without it.
Brows
Very thin eyebrows can drag your eye down and looks dated. Eyebrows are the shoulder pads that hold up the face. Eyebrows provide a focal point that demands attention a slightly over grown brow looks better than a perfectly groomed brow, and you can give it a nice shape with brow powder and gel.
Blush
Use pink or peach blush, never brown. If you want to contour, do so with a slightly darker foundation than your regular color. Always use blush with a strong eye treatment to balance the face. Smile as broadly as you can when applying blush.
Drooping eyes prevent makeup from looking smudge proof and fresh looking. Keep shadow in a light neutral shade, and contour the eye itself with liner. If you have wrinkling or puffiness below the eye, soft shadow placed right under eye can deflect and soften the area.
Brush Away Crow’s Feet
Apply pale shadow over fine lines and they’ll virtually disappear when the light hits them. Try to find a shimmering foundation, or you can dip a brush into a shimmery eye shadow and then into your regular foundation. “Brush” into the lines.
Instant smile lift
Paint your smile lines with concealer, and then lightly powder over. Use an eyeliner brush for the best effect.
Foundation Changes
Slightly moisten your fingers when applying foundation. If you use a sponge, wet it slightly. A little moisture provides a dewy young surface. Apply moisturizer, then smooth on a firming gel. Leave it on and it will smooth and tighten your skin temporarily under your foundation.
Application Advice
Tilt your head slightly when looking in the mirror and applying eye products. Don’t look down into the mirror or you won’t get your makeup close enough to the eye.
Sunless Face Slimming
Bronzing powder can go a long way in making your face look both slimmer and younger. The key in believable bronzing is not to try to go too dark. The color looks best when it’s one or two shades darker than your natural skin tone. Just replace your regular finishing powder with the bronzer, and you can look radiant throughout the seasons.

Apply it where the sun would naturally color your face, nose, cheeks, chin, and forehead. Skip the area right under the eye. Use only enough to color. You’ll know you’ve applied too much when it looks powdery.
Lips
The perfect lipstick can take years away from your face. It sends the attention to your lips rather than to sagging mouth wrinkles or a sagging jaw line. Be diligent in keeping to the lip line. Extending beyond will only accentuate lines.
